Features
- High-quality imported chips with large current-carrying capacity. - One-port design for protection against electric shock. - Equipped with a built-in disconnector. When the SPD fails due to overheating or breakdown, the disconnector can automatically disconnect it from the power grid and provide an indication signal at the same time.
- Hot-swappable design allows for the replacement of the protector unit without power outage.
- The response time of operation is less than 25 nanoseconds.

SKD 3 Type Surge Protection Device Description
SKD3 surge protector adopts modular design, suitable for AC 50/60Hz, rated voltage 420V and below TN-S, TN-C-S, TT, IT and other power supply systems, as lightning strike equipotential connection, the product has a built-in fault disconnect device, when the surge protector fails due to overcurrent and overheating, breakdown, the fault disconnect device can automatically disconnect it from the power grid, and the visual alarm indicator module changes from green (normal) to red (fault), which can be replaced online.
SKD3 type product is suitable for Class B lightning protection, used for equipotential connection during lightning strike, installed at the interface between LPZ0A area or LPZ0B area and LPZ1 area, SKD3 is usually installed in the low-voltage main distribution cabinet of the buried pipe inlet.

Schematic Diagram of Wiring Method
Q 1: Surge Protector Selection
Q: How can I select an appropriate SKD1 surge protector?
A: Select it according to the required lightning protection level and the environment. For example, choose SKD1 - B for Class B lightning protection, which is used at the junction of LPZOB and LPZ1, etc.; choose SKD1 - C for Class C lightning protection, which is suitable for places like computer centers; choose SKD1 - D for Class D lightning protection, which is used to protect terminal loads. Also, refer to parameters such as the maximum continuous operating voltage.
Q 2: Installation Conditions
Q: What are the key installation conditions for SKD series surge protectors?
A: The operating temperature should be between -20℃ and +45℃, and the 24-hour average should not exceed +35℃. The humidity at +40℃ should not exceed 50% and there should be no condensation. The altitude should be lower than 2000 meters. The environment should be free from strong vibrations, impacts, corrosive gases, and hazardous substances, and the pollution degree should be at Level Ⅲ.
Q 3: Importance of Technical Parameters
Q: Why are technical parameters such as the voltage protection level and discharge current of SKD1 surge protectors important?
A: The voltage protection level limits the over voltage. A lower value indicates better protection. The discharge current (nominal and maximum) reflects the ability to deal with surge currents. A higher value means it can handle strong lightning-induced surges and effectively protect the electrical system.
